Catching Fire: Twilight Redux

Posted on

I was really happy to get a copy of Catching Fire and sat down and read it in one evening. Alright, I skimmed through many of the descriptions, yada, yada, blah, blah, and went mainly for the dialogue.

In this book I was struck by how much it was like Twilight. Our beloved Heroine, attracted to two men for two different reasons. All the platonic nightly snuggling. The continual danger, etc.

That said, I should confess that I am firmly in with Camp Peeta. I love this kid. He just does everything right for the right reasons. Even Edward made some mistakes, but my Peeta (that’s right, my Peeta) remains the model of perfection.

Peeta and Katniss just need to have a baby for Gale to fall in love with. Although the hint about a Madge crush gives me hope — but did she survive?
